I was pretty excited last night when I got home from my cake class, to hear that my parents called. Their home! My parents travel what seems to me, quite a bit, but since Grace has been born, my Mom has become an even more integral part of my life. For the past three months, she has been caring for Grace one day a week while I was at work. Before that, my Mom and I met at least twice a week and we talk on the phone almost daily. She has been gone almost a solid three weeks - first week in Victoria for a conference (she missed the conference as she was with me as I was in labour a year ago), and then a week with my Dad in Florida then Virginia. I am very excited to see her today.
Miss Grace's bumps are almost all gone - the ones on her shoulders have disappeared but she still has about 5 around her hips. I am guessing this is because of her diaper? In anycase, good news is that since the bumps are disappearing, this is not chickenpox, but rather a reaction to the MMR shot. Basically she has 'fake' measles. I am relieved that she did not get an associated fever, and that her mood stayed more than happy the past few days. She doesn't seem bothered by them at all.
Onto cake! So last night I painted the haybales, made leaves for the roses, and worked some more on my tower. I have just one more week to get my cake done before we leave on our cruise - eek! Erin has wonderfully agreed to submit my cake for me, so the pressure is on to finish off all the details. I have decided to not post any progress pics, and will just put a final pic up once it's done. Keeping you all on the edge of your seats - I know.
I need to fit in a 4K run today and haven't decided if I will do that with Grace, or solo. Saturday Grace and I are running in the 5K Footstock run. Her first race - I'm so proud ;) I have never locked the front wheel on her stroller so I need to figure out how to do that, as Footstock is primarily run on shale paths. I'm worried that it will be hard to push the stroller. Perhaps I will journey out to Cochrane with her this afternoon for the run and we'll give it a practice 'run'.
I hope you all enjoy this lovely sunny day we are having! Hopefully we stay away from rain for just a few hours...
